Ruth and Andrew Lim Faculty Scholar
Andrew Lim was raised in Hong Kong before coming to the U.S. to complete his education; he studied chemical engineering at OSU. In his three-decade career at Motorola, he helped lay the groundwork for 21st century mobile communications. Ruth was born in Malaysia and raised in Singapore, where she attended medical school. She later became a physician and medical director specializing in pediatric and family medicine, homeopathy and alternative medicine. Her passion for healing others took her on 23 medical missions around the globe. She also served in Operation Desert Storm as an Army Reservist and retired as a lieutenant colonel.
After Andrew died in 2022, Ruth decided to create an endowed faculty fund in his honor in the College of Engineering. She hopes her support will not only provide opportunities for faculty and the students they guide, but create sustainability for OSU.
