Martin Chaves Lifetime Achievement Award
The annual Martin Chaves Lifetime Achievement Award is presented by OSU Athletics to individuals who have made outstanding lifetime contributions to OSU Athletics. Chaves was a four-year letterman who was the captain of the 1942 Rose Bowl team. A former president of the Beaver Athletic Student Fund, he was influential in various fund-raising activities.
Congratulations to the 2024 Martin Chaves Lifetime Achievement Award Recipients Cathryn Guinn Rudd, ’76, and James H. Rudd, ’06 (Hon. alum.)
Cathy and Jim Rudd have a demonstrated history of philanthropic and community work. They are ardent supporters of Beaver Nation, regularly attending OSU Athletics events and making sizeable contributions to the Our Beaver Nation Fund, Men's Intercollegiate Athletics Basketball Program Fund and the OSU Football Fund for Excellence. Their substantial gift to Completing Reser Stadium was essential to the project’s success. Jim and Cathy have both served in leadership roles with the OSU Foundation, and Cathy is a past member of the College of Health’s Campaign Cabinet and President’s Club Leadership Council, while Jim is the past board chair, and a current board member, for the Athletic Director’s Board of Advisors.
