FAQ
Can I tell you what area I want my gift to support?
Absolutely. Your gift can support Oregon State’s colleges, departments, programs, scholarships, the library…. the list goes on.
What if the area I want to support isn't listed on the giving form and I don't know the specific name of an account?
Just describe it as best as you can. We’ll contact you if we need to find out more.
How can I make a general contribution to support Oregon State?
Directing your gift to the President’s Fund for Excellence is a great way to do this. This fund allows leaders to invest in programs that benefit students throughout OSU and meet its commitment to academic excellence at affordable costs.
Can I make a gift in installments?
Yes, and it’s easy when you make an online gift; just check the box that says "frequency" and enter the number of payments and amount of each installment.
How do I get a tax receipt for my donation?
Receipts are mailed as gifts are processed. If you did not receive a receipt or need a duplicate receipt, please contact the Office of Gift Administration.
Do company matching gifts count toward donor recognition?
Yes! For example, when your gift of $500 is matched with $500 from your employer, you will be recognized at the $1,000 level. Check our database to see if your company has a matching gift program.
What is the Oregon State University Foundation's nonprofit tax ID number?
The OSU Foundation's Employer Identification Number (EIN), also known as a Federal Tax Identification Number, is 93-6022772.
What is the Oregon State University Foundation's gift fee and how much is it?
Oregon State University has chosen to fund its fundraising operation through a combination of gift fees, investment income and direct university support. This model is used by many public institutions; more than half of universities in the U.S. have some type of gift fee. A 5% fee on gifts supports future development activities and the ongoing operations of the Foundation. This fee is capped at $250,000 per gift.
Whom can I contact with questions about a gift I have made or about my pledge?
Gift Administration staff can answer most giving-related questions or provide a referral.
How can I make a Wire Transfer?
To make a gift via wire transfer, please download and complete the Wire Transfer form. Contact the OSU Foundation Office of Gift Administration if you have any questions and to ensure that the correct fund benefits from your gift and that you are appropriately credited.
