Outstanding Alumni Network Award

Overview:

Established in 2024, this award is presented to honor exceptional alumni networks, councils and groups that demonstrate exemplary leadership, engagement and support to both their alumni community and Oregon State University. This award recognizes active alumni networks, councils and groups that have gone above and beyond in fostering connections, providing invaluable resources and making significant contributions that enhance the mission and values of the OSU Alumni Association, OSU Foundation and Oregon State University.

Eligibility Considerations:

  • Be in active standing* with the OSU Alumni Association, OSU Foundation, or Oregon State University.
  • Primarily led by Oregon State alumni (at least 51% of group members are recognized Oregon State alumni).
  • Held at least two (2) network/group meetings in the previous fiscal/academic year.**.
  • Held at least two (2) experience/engagement activities the previous fiscal year that are in alignment with the mission and objectives of the OSU Alumni Association as it relates to one or more of the following areas:
  • Supported and/or activated change within the industry, local community and/or OSU community with respect to diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice.
  • Supported governmental and community advocacy efforts for Oregon State. University, OSU Alumni Association and/or OSU Foundation's education efforts, research and programs.
  • Supported students and graduates with career advice and connections to alumni, donors and friends and/or provided their career expertise to university leadership, faculty and staff to guide the OSU community's outreach and educational efforts.
  • Supported engagement activities designed to cultivate stewardship and donations, and/or help to strengthen the OSU community.

Networks/Groups Ineligible for Nominations:

  • The OSU Board of Trustees, OSU Alumni Board of Directors, or OSU Foundation Board of Trustees.
  • Internal division or unit workgroups, taskforces, committees, commissions or councils to Oregon State University, OSU Foundation and OSU Alumni Association.

Nominations:

  • Nominations for the award are encouraged from any source.
  • All nominations shall be kept confidential.
  • Please include the nomination form linked below.
  • Nominations may be made at any time. If a nominee is not selected in the first year, their nomination will remain active for two years following their nomination and pending they currently meet the eligibility considerations.

 

*Active standing: Regularly engages its members through communication, events, and support for and with their alma mater, fostering professional development, networking, and community service.

**Fiscal/academic year is from July 1 to June 30 each year. Nominations should reflect or speak to the activities of the previous fiscal/academic year.

Congratulations to the 2024 Outstanding Alumni Network Award - OSU Innovation and Design Network

Established in 2009 in partnership with the OSU Alumni Association, the OSU Innovation and Design Network has fostered a robust, inclusive and uplifting community for students and alumni. Through signature events including Industry Connect, alumni-led Industry Talks and Industry Socials, and previously, an annual fashion show, the network has created opportunities for networking, knowledge-sharing, and celebrating and advancing design fields. It has especially served as a conduit connecting Portland-based design professionals and OSU students. Over the last 15 years, an active council of current and past board leaders have facilitated countless inspiring and conscientious conversations, helping Oregon Staters become the leaders who drive forward positive change in global design and merchandising industries. For their unwavering dedication and support of the OSU community, the OSU Alumni Association is proud to select the OSUIDN as the inaugural recipient of the Outstanding Alumni Network and Group Award.
