Our special community of faculty and staff donors

Our OSU Loyal community is made up of an incredible group of faculty and staff with a variety of interests and passions who come together philanthropically, determined to make a difference. Collectively, 1,315 OSU colleagues gave nearly $3.16 million in annual gifts to support their philanthropic passions at OSU last fiscal year.

The generosity of OSU professionals creates a meaningful impact on hundreds of different areas across the university:

  • Transforming the lives of OSU students
  • Bolstering OSU Extension and other community outreach programs
  • Propelling research that provides innovative solutions to difficult problems
  • Improving the quality of life for people and animals
  • Creating leadership opportunities for our student athletes

These accomplishments were made possible because OSU Loyal donors like you joined together to support future generations of OSU students, Oregonians and more.

Loyal membership includes

  • Candidacy for OSU Loyal Philanthropic Partner Award
  • Access to impactful OSU Foundation events and opportunities
  • Invitation to OSU Loyal events and activities
  • Informing the future of OSU through philanthropic engagement

2022 OSU Loyal Philanthropic Partner Award

As the Director of KidSpirit, Karen leads by example, embracing the philanthropic opportunities available to grow her program’s impact thoughtfully, both for now and the future. She embodies her strong conviction to inspire youth and staff to exemplify integrity, empathy, perseverance, and optimism.

Karen is a steadfast donor and fundraiser, partnering in efforts to create at-once funding for the programs she serves. On top of that, while most units have utilized the OSU Foundation’s annual Dam Proud Day to raise funds for immediate use, Karen has taken a long view by focusing on growing an endowment to make KidSpirit more accessible to youth of all backgrounds, in perpetuity.

In addition to her enthusiastic participation in Dam Proud Day, Karen has engaged with the OSU Foundation’s Women’s Giving Circle – successfully applying for grants that helped KidSpirit launch the “Girls on the Run” program and created a “Positive Youth Development Coaching Certificate” for students interested in becoming youth coaches.
