About the speaker:

Professor Adam Kent is a professor in the geology program who studies volcanoes and volcanic eruptions using geochemistry tools. He is also the Director of the W.M. Keck Collaboratory for Plasma Spectrometry (“Keck Lab”), hosted in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences at OSU. He has worked extensively in the volcanoes of the Cascade Range, including Mount Hood, Mount St. Helens and Mount Mazama/Crater Lake as well as in New Zealand, Japan, Saudi Arabia and Greenland. Professor Kent has been at OSU since 2002 and served as director of the Keck Lab since 2013.
