Why is our Beaver Nation Membership changing? 

College athletics is evolving, and this update helps clearly separate: 

  • Contributions tied to tickets and parking access, and 

  • Our Beaver Nation Membership supports individual programs, student-athletes, and emerging priorities such as revenue-sharing.    

  • This clarity helps donors better understand how their support is being used. 

 

What is changing with the Our Beaver Nation Fund? 

The Our Beaver Nation Fund has been renamed the OSU Athletics Seat and Parking Fund. The new name more clearly reflects the fund’s purpose: providing seats and parking access tied to season tickets. 

 

Is anything changing with my seats, parking, or benefits? 

No. When making a contribution to the OSU Seat and Parking fund, your seat and parking access remain the same, and you will continue to receive recognition through the Bennyfits program at your current level. 

 

Do OSU Seat and Parking Fund contributions still support student-athletes? 

Yes. Contributions to the OSU Athletics Seats and Parking Fund continue to support student-athlete scholarships and OSU’s ability to recruit and retain top talent. 

 

What is Our Beaver Nation Membership? 

Our Beaver Nation Membership is now defined through donations that support: 

  • Student-athlete experience and excellence 

  • Traditional operating expenses to attract top talent  

  • Emerging priorities, including direct student-athlete revenue sharing 


If I give to more than one sport, how is my membership level determined? 

Membership level is determined by total amount given, even if you choose to split your giving between multiple programs. 

 

Do I have to become a member to keep my seats or parking? 

No. Our Beaver Nation Membership is not necessary for seat or parking access.

 

Are Seat and Parking Fund Contributions Tax-Deductible? 

Per the 2018 Tax-Cuts and Jobs Act, gifts that provide access to seat locations at home sports events are not tax-deductible. Contributions to the OSU Seat and Parking Fund for access to designated parking locations that exceed seat requirements may have tax benefits. Please speak with your tax advisor. 

 

Is Our Beaver Nation Membership Tax-Deductible?

You have options! Donations to the Athletics Fund for Excellence, Fearless, or to any individual sport that qualifies for Our Beaver Nation Membership may offer potential tax benefits. Again, please speak with your tax advisor.  

 

How does Our Beaver Nation membership enhance my experience? 

Memberships help OSU Athletics achieve greater success and create memorable fan experiences.

    You can become an Our Beaver Nation Member with a $10 recurring monthly gift to the Athletics Fund for Excellence, FEARLESS: Supporting the Women of OSU Athletics, or any of our individual sport accounts. Annual donations of $120 or more will also qualify you for membership.

    No. Our Beaver Nation membership is not provided if only seats and parking contributions are made.

    Yes, if you choose to DECLINE Beaver Points when making your gift, you may be able to receive tax benefits from your OBN membership donation.
    95%. Oregon State University has chosen to support its fundraising operations through a 5% gift fee and a small amount of direct university support. This model is used by many public institutions; more than half of U.S. universities have some form of gift fee.

    Membership Terms

    • Each membership lasts one year. 

    • Memberships do not stack or overlap. 

    • Benefits are provided at various giving levels. 

    • Extra donations can unlock more benefits, but they do not add extra time.

    • Membership starts when we receive your qualifying gift. 

    •  Make a one-time annual gift  

    • Start a monthly recurring gift  

    • All memberships end on the first day of a month. 

     

    One-time annual gift example: If you join on February 18, your membership will run through March 1 of the following year. 

     

    Monthly recurring gift examples: If a recurring gift is cancelled, your membership will remain active until the first of the following month.  

     

    If your Membership Ends

    • If you miss your renewal window, not a problem! Make a qualifying gift at any time to begin a new membership.

    • Your new one-year membership will start when your next donation is received. 

    We are always grateful for your support, no matter when you give. If you have questions, our team is happy to help!

     

    • We will send renewal reminders two months before membership ends. 

    • If you renew during this time, your next membership year will begin right after your current one ends. 

    • This helps make sure your benefits continue without interruption. 

    • If you upgrade your membership level, you will get the next level benefits immediately.  

    We are grateful for additional support during your membership year. Your generosity helps make an even bigger impact! 

    • If a new membership level is reached when making an extra gift, benefits will increase right away!

    • Your membership end date stays the same.
