May 9, 2022

Ralph and Gail Hendrickson planned an estate gift to establish a professorship in mechanical, industrial and manufacturing engineering as well as a scholarship for students studying mechanical engineering.

Ralph studied mechanical engineering at Oregon State University, receiving a B.S. in 1961. He continued his education at OSU, obtaining a second B.S. degree in 1963 from what was then called the School of Business and Technology. Ralph had a 32-year career at Boeing working as a senior structural design engineer on government missile and military aircraft programs, primarily the Minuteman ICBM and B-2 bomber programs. Gail studied home economics at the University of Washington and worked for 15 years as a buyer for the  Frederick & Nelson (Marshall Field) department store in Seattle. She has since served many years with the Lutheran Church Women’s organization both as a regional volunteer and as a national board member and vice president.
