Oregon Wheat Cereal Quality Faculty Scholar

January 1, 2025

In 2025, the Oregon Wheat Commission established the Oregon Wheat Cereal Quality Faculty Scholar Endowment Fund to advance cereal quality research and grower outreach in the College of Agricultural Sciences.

Wheat is one of Oregon’s most important agricultural commodities. This fund aims to improve wheat-growing productivity, support Oregon wheat’s success in international markets with high-quality cereal grains and help boost nutritional value in wheat and barley-based foods.

The Oregon Wheat Commission is made up of wheat producers and aims to find solutions to industry challenges and increase the profitability of Oregon wheat growers. The commission focuses on supporting research related to developing new wheat varieties, genomics, quality, fertility and weed management at Oregon State University and the USDA Agricultural Research Service Western Wheat Quality Laboratory.
