Our Beaver Nation Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Our Beaver Nation exists to support Oregon State student-athletes and help donors understand how their generosity makes an impact. Below are answers to common questions about membership, giving, benefits, and more.

General Support

Our Beaver Nation (OBN) is a unit within the OSU Foundation dedicated to supporting Oregon State Athletics. OBN works in close partnership with OSU Athletics to engage donors, advance fundraising priorities, and enhance the student-athlete experience.

The OSU Foundation is the sole fundraising arm for Oregon State University, and all contributions in support of OSU student-athletes and teams are processed through the OSU Foundation.

Yes. Every gift helps support the educational, athletic, and personal experiences of OSU student-athletes. For example, a gift of $100 can help cover the cost of essential academic materials, training equipment, or personal expenses. Every contribution makes an impact.

Contributions support areas that enhance the student-athlete experience, including Scholarship and educational support, leadership development, student-athlete wellness, and now direct student-athlete benefits through revenue sharing opportunities.

The OSU Foundation is grateful for companies that match gifts for their employees. Each company’s policy is different. Please consult your employer.

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act eliminated the tax deductibility of ticket seat contributions and gifts that receive Beaver Points used for home-game ticket placement. All gifts to OSU Athletics default to receiving Beaver Points unless otherwise noted by the donor when making their donation.

Beaver Points & Total Investment

Beaver Points are used for ticket placement for home contests in Corvallis, including season ticket upgrades, additional ticket requests, full venue season ticket relocations, and select postseason events, such as the NCAA Women’s Basketball first and second round, Regional and Super-Regional baseball contests, or Men’s Basketball N.I.T. games.

Beaver Points are earned through various forms of philanthropic support, ticket purchases, membership longevity, and select engagement activities. All gifts to OSU Athletics default to receiving Beaver Points unless otherwise noted by the donor when making their donation.

Additional donations to OSU Athletics, ticket purchases, and non-athletic giving to the OSU Foundation all contribute to Total Investment.

Season Tickets & Parking

A Seat Contribution is a required donation that provides the right to purchase home game tickets for Football, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, and Baseball. Seat Contributions are collected at the time of season ticket purchase and are not tax-deductible per the 2018 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

Seat and parking contributions are placed in the OSU Athletics Seats and Parking Fund and support scholarships for student-athletes.

Yes. Seat Contributions for Football, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, and Baseball are specific to each sport.

Matching gifts for Seat Contributions vary by employer. The ticket holder is responsible for confirming eligibility and providing documentation if applicable.

Seat contributions help you meet your required parking donations. If your seat contribution is more than your parking minimum, additional support is not required. If the parking minimum is greater than your seat contribution for your desired lot, only the balance is due.

Parking is allocated based on Total Investment. Supporting OSU Athletics through Our Beaver Nation Membership and ticket purchases helps improve parking priority.

Parking is allocated based on Total Investment rank and availability. During the annual parking allocation window, donors select parking locations in rank order. Alternate selections are available if a preferred lot is full.

No. Parking passes for Football, Men’s Basketball, and Women’s Basketball require both season tickets and meeting the required parking contribution.
