Drawing from her work as a community ecologist, Dr. Eisenberg presents pathways to advance social justice for Indigenous peoples and persons of color globally. A more secure future for natural resources restoration, conservation and management begins with an urgent undertaking to move beyond settler colonialism in academia. She elucidates the urgent need to acknowledge and support scientists, managers, and scholars from all ethnicities and empower them to use their Traditional Ecological Knowledge to best address world crises such as the novel coronavirus pandemic, climate change, the sixth extinction, catastrophic wildfires and rampant poverty.
