Alumni Reunions Homecoming Week

It’s time to come home to OSU for class reunion celebrations. The Class of 1972 will celebrate its 50th golden reunion, as will the Classes of 1970 and 1971 whose golden celebrations were impacted by the pandemic. All classes are welcome to join us. Members of the Class of 1962 are joining us for their 60th class reunion as well.

All events will be at the CH2M HILL Alumni Center on campus unless otherwise noted.

Thursday, Oct. 13

  • 10:00 a.m. A campus tour presentation (not a walking tour) with photos and stories, led by special guest "tour guide" and storyteller Gene Compton Newburgh, '72. This event will be free and livestreamed for online viewing. Registration for the online presentation closes at Oct. 11 at 10 a.m. Use the registration link above. 
  • Noon Medallion Lunch: celebrate your 50th golden class reunion with a presentation from campus leaders, including OSU’s next president, Jayathi Y. Murthy and a keynote presentation by Dr. Erica Fleishman, OSU's new Director of the Oregon Climate Change Research Institute. During the lunch, classes of 1970, 1971 and 1972 will receive their Golden Jubilee medallion.
  • 1:30 p.m. Class photos – will be mailed to your home after the event.
  • 2 p.m. Memory Lane with archives from the 1970s.
  • 3:00 p.m. Campus walking tours focusing on Athletics facilities.
  • 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Alpha Phi no-host happy hour at the Courtyard Marriott foyer, 400 SW 1st St, Corvallis (downtown) Organized by: Elizabeth Anderson Vandehey. 
  • 6 p.m.  Delta Gamma and Kappa Kappa Gamma will be gathering this night. Organized by Gene Compton Newburgh Candi Hironaka Pitts.  If you are interested in joining them, please contact kate.sanders@osualum.com.

Friday, Oct. 14

    • 10:30 a.m. Campus walking tours focusing on the cultural centers. Tours will begin at the CH2M HILL Alumni Center. 
    • 12:30 p.m. Lunch at the Alumni Center: Introduction to OSU's next fundraising campaign and volunteer appreciation  lunch
    • 6 p.m. Men's living group gatherings organized by fellow classmates. Gatherings will be at various locations in Corvallis and food and beverage will be available for purchase.
    • 7 p.m. - Phi Delts are meeting at Squirrel's Tavern in downtown Corvallis. Organized by Erin Haynes. 


    Saturday, Oct. 15: 1970s Decade Reunion Tailgate & Football Game

    Join the classes of 1970-79 for a reunion tailgate celebration at the Alumni Center before the game! The event will be free to attend and food and beverages will be available to purchase. We would love to know you are coming! Use the registration link above to let us know you will be there. You do not have to pay for the whole reunion to attend this event.

    3:00 p.m.  - Alumni Center tailgate celebration. The event is free to attend, food is available for purchase. 
    6:00 p.m. -  Homecoming football game kickoff

    Sunday, Oct. 16: Group Gatherings

    • 10:00 a.m. Phi Delts are meeting for breakfast at Tommy's Bar and Grill in Corvallis. Address: 350 SW 4th St, Corvallis, OR 97333.  No registration required. Organized by Erin Haynes. 



    Registration information

    $85 per person for all in-person reunion activities including the Homecoming reunion tailgate celebration. Meal options at the evening activities and the Homecoming tailgate are additional.  The online presentation option is free to attend as well as the tailgate celebration at the Alumni Center on Saturday.

    The OSUAA is pleased to assist alumni groups with OSU reunions in the following ways:

    • Assist with electronic communication with alumni on behalf of the reunion committee
    • Notify colleges and departments about upcoming reunions
    • Assist with obtaining reunion lists
    • Place reunion announcement in the Class Notes section of the Oregon Stater magazine
    • Advise on overall programming and timelines
    • Assist with: venue selection, catering, photography, audio-visual logistics, budget and contract review
    • Provide online registration for events
    • Coordinate athletic tickets and advise on local accommodations
    • Create informal name tags and advise on other printed materials
    • Advise alumni group in locating campus maps and other important campus brochures, fact sheets
    • Assign an Alumni Association staff member to attend main event to welcome attendees (schedule permitting)
