Dam Good Connections — Portland Watch Party
Beaver Nation, let’s kick off this year’s Dam Good Connections West Coast networking series in Portland — Oregon State’s largest alumni home region — with a networking reception and game-day excitement!
Join alumni, families, students and friends of OSU for a high-energy regional networking meetup — coinciding with a Beaver Football watch party as the Beavs take on Tulsa. Enjoy delicious food and drinks from OSU partner 10 Barrel Brewing Co., meet fellow Beavs who live and work in the area, and grow your connections in a fun, spirited atmosphere.
At halftime, join OSU Alumni Association Executive Director John Valva in conversation with Beaver Football alumni Obum Gwacham, ’15, and Ryan Nall, ’18. Hear stories, insights and behind-the-scenes perspectives from Beavs who’ve lived the excitement of the on-field experience!

About the speakers:

Obum Gwacham
Former OSU defensive end Obum Gwacham showed commitment and versatility both on the field and in the classroom, earning Pac-12 All-Academic honors and engaging in OSU’s Beavers Without Borders service-learning trip to the Dominican Republic. After converting from wide receiver to defensive end in his senior season, Obum was drafted in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks and went on to play professionally with the New Orleans Saints, Arizona Cardinals, New York Jets, Tampa Bay Vipers and BC Lions.

Ryan Nall
Ryan Nall ranks among Oregon State’s all-time rushing leaders, finishing his career with 2,216 yards (ranked eighth in school history) and 24 rushing touchdowns (ranked seventh). A powerful running back, he also excelled academically, earning multiple Pac-12 All-Academic honors. After college, Nall played professionally with the Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys and Houston Roughnecks before announcing his retirement in June 2024.
