History
The OSU Alumni Association was founded on February 3, 1873, at a meeting held in President Benjamin Lee Arnold's office in the old Corvallis College building located downtown. Official approval for the group and the election of officers took place on June 18 of that year. The association has been in continuous service since that time and, today, is the oldest organization on campus not directly related to academics.
In 2017, the OSU Foundation and OSU Alumni Association were integrated, a strategic alignment designed to increase efficiencies and support coordinated activities in service to the university. The OSU Foundation is a 501c3 organization, supporting organization of Oregon State, separate from the university. Read more.
Impact
Engaging OSU’s graduates and friends in meaningful ways starts with great communications. The Oregon Stater magazine, Beaver Lodge digital newsletter and OSUAA social media networks educate, celebrate and connect the Beaver community.
From there, alumni networks, events and programs help students and other alumni with career connections, promote community and shared pride, cheer our athletic teams, promote lifelong education, celebrate achievement, and advocate for student, research and academic success.
Along the way, OSUAA manages the university’s longest-running undergraduate scholarship program, operates Corvallis’ primary events and convention center, delivers membership benefits, hosts group travel, drives meaningful philanthropy and helps ensure OSU connections last a lifetime.
OSU Alumni Association Board of Directors
The OSUAA Board of Directors provides extraordinary advice and insights, promotes and role models active alumni-hood, holds fiscal fiduciary responsibilities, and supports staff efforts to ensure that engagement is meaningful to alumni and there are resources necessary to effectively fulfill the association’s mission and vision.
