OSU Foundation - Trey Winthrop
Mr. Winthrop is the CEO of Bob’s Red Mill Natural Foods, Inc. He joined the company in 2005 as a staff accountant and came up through the ranks working alongside founders and OSU honorary alumni Bob and Charlee Moore. With an instinct for opportunity and a knowledge of the import-export space gleaned while working for his family’s small business, Mr. Winthrop was instrumental in increasing Bob’s Red Mill’s export sales by $25 million in five years’ time, making the company a recognized leader in the natural food industry on both the national and international stage. During his tenure as chief financial officer, he guided the company through a series of financial transactions that resulted in Bob’s Red Mill becoming 100% employee owned in 2020. He advocates at the national level for regenerative agriculture practices and policies, and is also a recognized business leader on Capitol Hill, advocating for employee-owned businesses.
Mr. Winthrop has been a member of the Bob’s Red Mill board of directors since 2016. He has served on the OSU College of Business Dean’s Council of Excellence, on the board for the American Heart Association, as president of the Portland Chapter of Financial Executives International and on President Obama’s eight-member panel advocating for reauthorizing the Import-Export Bank Charter. Mr. Winthrop has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from OSU and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
