Independent, democratic Croatia welcomes visitors eager to absorb its remarkable history, culture, and unspoiled Dalmatian coastline.  As your small group, limited to 24 travelers, journeys from Zagreb to beloved Dubrovnik on a captivating 15-day exploration, see why this cherished region lays such a claim on the hearts of all visitors.

Touring of Croatia’s capital, Zagreb, reveals a gracious city of culture and hospitality, including its historic Old Town and colorful Dolac market.  Spend the next two nights in the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, a friendly city boasting romantic bridges and abundant parkland.  During an outing to lovely Bled, tour its castle and take a boat ride on its fairytale lake.

After exploring Postojna Cave’s depths by train, continue on to charming Opatija, once royalty’s seaside escape, for a three-night stay.  A daylong tour showcases the alluring Istrian Peninsula’s fascinating history and distinctly Mediterranean atmosphere.  Taking an excursion to Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO site, see its famed turquoise-colored lakes.  Visit picturesque Split and tour the imposing ruins of 3rd-century Diocletian’s Palace, another UNESCO site.  Two nights in Venetian-tinged Hvar Town on Hvar, “queen” of the Dalmatian islands, follow, with exploration and a tasting at a local winery.

Treasured Dubrovnik, “Pearl of the Adriatic,” is the final destination for a three-night stay.  Discover this medieval gem by touring and independently, and enjoy a small group highlight as a dinner guest in a local family’s home.  Experience the charms of the tiny Balkan nation of Montenegro with an optional 4-day/3-night post-tour extension.
